Chemical Pallets

Chemical pallets come in nine different sizes and were originally developed for use by the European Chemical and Plastics Industries to harmonize industry standards. Today chemical pallets are used in many industries and can serve as a good substitute for euro pallets because they have an exchange value in Europe at their “end of life” the supply chain.

Chemical pallets, known by their abbreviations as “CP-Pallets” are designated CP-1, CP-2, etc.

CP-1 & CP-6

These pallets are primarily used with sacks and boxes. The CP-1 is used with lighter loads. The CP-6 is more appropriate for floor stacking multiple loaded units and for racking. The perimeter bottom prevents damage to the lower units by more evenly distributing the load..

CP-2

This pallet type was designed to be a EUR Pallet replacement. This pallet is sometimes used in North America in place of a EUR pallet.

CP-3 & CP-9

Primarily used for drums and supersacks. CP-3 is the lighter-duty, non-perimeter bottom good for floor stacking, one or two units high. CP-9 is the heavier-duty, perimeter bottom good for floor stacking multiple loaded units high and for racking. The perimeter bottom prevents damage to the lower units by more evenly distributing

CP-8

This pallet is used solely for supersacks. It is dedicated to particular material handling equipment that allows a supersack to be placed on the pallet upside down, with the nozzle extended from which the material from the supersack can be poured.

Euro Pallets

The EUR-pallet—also Euro-pallet or EPAL-pallet—is the standard European pallet as specified by the European Pallet Association (EPAL). Pallets conforming to the standardization are eligible for the European Pallet Pool (EPP) - the EPAL pallet system allows for an exchange as "pallet for pallet".

The EUR/EPAL-pallet is 1200×800×144 mm; it is a four-way pallet made of wood that is nailed with 78 special nails in a prescribed pattern. Only EPAL-licensed makers may produce EUR/EPAL-pallets.

Plywood Boxes

Plywood Boxes are available in different shapes and sizes. These have the capability to withstand different types of weather and can be used for long storage items. These boxes are multi stackable and multi handleable. They are effectively tested in terms of leakage with the help of various modern testing equipments. Wooden Crates

A wooden crate has a self-supporting structure, with or without sheathing. For a wooden container to be a crate, all six of its sides must be put in place to result in the rated strength of the container. Crates are distinct from wooden boxes. The strength of a wooden box is rated based on the weight it can carry before the top (top, ends, and sides) is installed, whereas the strength of a crate is rated with the top in place.

There are many variations of wooden crate designs. By far the most common are 'closed', 'open' and 'framed'. A Closed Crate is one that is completely or nearly completely enclosed with material such as plywood or lumber boards. When lumber is used, gaps are often left between the boards to allow for expansion. An Open Crate is one that (typically) uses lumber for sheathing. The sheathing is typically gapped by at various distances. There is no strict definition of an open crate as compared to a closed crate. Typically when the gap between boards is greater than the distance required for expansion, the crate would be considered an open crate
